BioGas Generation

Erivac provides equipment for BioGas Generation

All over the world governments and companies are looking for ways to become more sustainable and reduce our carbon footprint in order to meet global warming targets. There is a change of paradigms in a process where fossil fuels, such as “Natural” Gas, are being phased out in favor of BioFuels. There is a huge potential in processing organic wastes, such as: – industrial and municipal sewage with high organic load – livestock manure; – sludge from waste water treatment; – household waste, etc., in an anaerobic process to produce Biogas. This Biogas can and will substitute “Natural” Gas for industrial purposes, BioFuel for combustion engines, and, as in many places around Europe for example, household heating and cooking gas.

BioGas Generation

BioGas is produced using an anaerobic digestion process that normally has a thermal control for maximum efficiency, thus heating and cooling of sludge is necessary. Digested Sludge often need Hygenization/Sterilization. The resulting BioGas also needs treatment before it can be commercially available to reduce impurities such as hydrogen sulfide.

For these processes, the following process equipment can be very useful

Ejectors and Vacuum Systems

 – Steam Jet Heater for Hygenization / Sterilization

 – Jet and Venturi Scrubbers

 – Eductors for Tank Mixing and Jet Aeration for Waste Water Treatment

Heat Exchangers

 – Spiral Heat Exchangers for liquid/liquid applications with dirty or high viscous media or product slurries with high solid content as economizers, heaters / coolers,

 – Welded Plate Heat Exchangers. These are for applications as above but for less dirty or semi-fouling media.

 – Gasketed Plate Heat Exchangers

 – Corrugated Tube In Tube Heat Exchangers – for liquid/liquid applications with dirty or high viscous media as economizers, heaters / coolers,

Filters

– Automatic Filters for protection of heat exchangers and spray nozzles for reduced maintenance necessity and increased plant availability, filtration of raw water and cooling water circuits. If Sea or Brackish Water is used, acting as effective mussels and mussel larvae stop.

Ejectors and Vacuum Systems

Steam Jet Heater for Hygenization / Sterilization

Jet Ejectors

Jet ejectors use a motive fluid to entrain and transport gases or liquids. With no moving parts, they are robust, low maintenance, and well suited for harsh process conditions.

Steam Jet Vacuum Ejectors

Steam jet ejectors generate vacuum by converting steam pressure into high velocity flow. They are reliable for vacuum creation and gas removal in process and utility applications.

Steam Jet Heaters

Steam jet heaters provide direct steam heating by condensing steam into the liquid. This gives fast heat up, compact installation, and efficient heat transfer.

Thermocompressors

Thermocompressors recover low pressure steam and boost it to a usable pressure using high pressure motive steam. They improve steam economy and support energy saving heat integration.

Jet and Venturi Scrubbers

Körting Jet Scrubber

A self priming jet scrubber used for cooling, absorption, dedusting, and gas conveying. Especially effective for removing dust with particles above 3 µm and can often replace mechanical ventilators by providing pressure gain.

Jet Scrubber

Körting Venturi Scrubber

A compact scrubber mainly used for dedusting, ideal for very fine particles below 3 µm. Wet operation makes it suitable where dust is sticky, hygroscopic, or otherwise difficult to handle with dry filtration.

Venturi Scrubber

Vent Gas Treating System (VGTS)

A complete, skid style unit combining jet scrubber, separation tank, packed tower, and swirl droplet separator. Designed for demanding waste gas cleaning duties, for example removal of acids and other harmful components from hot process gas streams.

Jet Scrubber 2

Eductors for Tank Mixing

Liquid Jet Mixing Nozzles (Eductors)

Core components in Körting tank mixing solutions for continuous or batch mixing. They can replace mechanical agitators and often deliver equal or better mixing results, with low energy input and no moving parts in the tank.

Jet Mixing nozzles 1

Tank Mixing Systems

Custom designed layouts where multiple eductors are positioned close to the tank bottom and wall to create guided circulation, prevent sedimentation, and avoid temperature layering across the full tank volume.

Jet Mixing nozzles 3

Jet Aeration for Waste Water Treatment

Jet Aerators (Körting ejectors)

Ejector based aeration that disperses air into fine bubbles and creates strong turbulence for high oxygen transfer, designed for polluted wastewater and low maintenance operation.

Multi path Jet Aerators (in tank units)

Compact manifold systems installed on the tank floor to deliver full tank mixing and comprehensive aeration, with layout adapted to tank geometry, depth, and oxygen demand.

Through the wall Jet Aerators

Stainless steel units mounted through the tank wall with external connections, built for high availability and optional shut off for nozzle checks without emptying the tank.

Jet Aerators for SBR plants

Arranged to provide both aeration and mixing with air on, plus selective circulation with air off during mixing phases, supporting alternating SBR operation.
